Stupid of me. I saw 'FAT32' in the fdisk output and paniced, something
horrible has happened to my partition table! but, no, it was my iPod's
partition table all along. Foolishness is, as they say, its own reward.

Once upon a time it didn't, so I added
resume=swap:/dev/sda2
I've just taken that out again. That's the last absolute disk device
reference anywhere on my system, I think/hope.
btw, ToI saved my bacon when I rebooted just now. I forgot to say
noresume, and the old swap partition from the last failed-resume boot
popped up:
[ 7.088360] TuxOnIce: Image found.
[ 7.288059] Using dev_t 8:2, returned by blk_lookup_fs_info.
[ 7.503207] Last mount time for dm-0 has changed!
[ 7.608382] Last mount time for sdb1 has changed!
[ 7.721209] Last mount time for dm-2 has changed!
[ 7.835114] Last mount time for dm-1 has changed!
[ 7.948133] Last mount time for dm-4 has changed!
[ 8.053115] TuxOnIce: File system mount time checks failed. Refusing to corrupt your filesystems!
So, thank you! That would have been the corruption from hell, since the
system had been running for a day in the middle doing all sorts of
stuff. :)
