[TuxOnIce-users] Problem hibernating on system that worked for ages

Hi,

I did a number of tests during the last two days and came up with some
strange result, I am not sure if and where the problem came from!

* Originally hibernating with 2.6.32-24.42 plus TOI 3.2rc2 did not work any
more, whereas many previouse versions did work fine
* Downgraded to Kernel 2.6.32-24.41 with TOI 3.1.1.1: worked fine
* Built a Kernel 2.6.32-24.42 with TOI 3.1.1.1: worked fine
* Built a Kernel 2.6.35 with TOI 3.2rc2: worked fine

at that point I had both the newer kernel and the newer TOI running fine, so
I decided to try the originally failing combination once more. Voila! It now
worked fine again! It seems to have "fixed itself" by either running with
TOI 3.1.1.1 or Kernel ...-41 once and then cleanly starting to use TOI
3.2rc2.

I do not have a definite explanation, one guess that I have would be that I
updated from TOI 3.1.1.1 to TOI 3.2rc2 without rebooting, i.e. hibernating
with 3.1.1.1 and resuming with 3.2rc2 afterwards and this made something
corrupt. Strange that it failed this way but now it seems to be as
rock-solid as ever on any of the kernel versions that I tried.

Thanks for pointing me, at least I found out some new ways to compile the
kernel on Ubuntu, it seems to me there is always yet another way to do it!

Thanks... Dominik.
