With hangs during the atomic copy/restore, it's usually a driver issue.
The normal way of approaching that is to try the no_console_suspend
command line option (which will show more debugging info and perhaps
stop at the driver that's causing the issue). You can also try starting
with a minimal configuration, test that hibernates reliably, then add
modules and services until you can say that one module/service makes the
difference. Hope that helps.
