No, I don't think so. If this is the / partition the check is even
less stringend than before, because before there was not that test for
device-backedness in, no?

BTW, I think that a remount ro here is a `bad idea' because it is just
obfuscating a potential problem. Woody, before doing that could you
place a

cat /proc/mounts

before the do_suspend and report? 

This test was only reported to trigger on obvious cases since it was
introduced, so I really would be curious to know what is going
on. Your setting is relatively complex, a stack of several software
layers to construct your devices, we should try to understand
that. And if this is really a device backed filesystem that is causing
this problem, you are risking consistency of that device by having it
mounted before resume.
