I think I have to correct myself. I removed dbus und hald from default
runlevel, now it boots up fine. As dbus is started as a dependency hald seems
to be the problem.
Now that the system is up and running it does not suspend correctly. It hangs
when doing atomic copy. I think the chmod fix can be the cause for that as I
remember that my last lable kernel (2.6.17.6) had the same problem.
