Hi Nigel and the rest,
I just upgraded to 2.1.9.5 on 2.6.12 and I haven't been able to suspend
so far. I suspect it's the changes in the compression area. So far I've
been using lzf compression without any problems. Maybe I'm just missing
someting obvious here...
This is what dmesg shows on boot:
Software Suspend Core.
Software Suspend Compression Driver loading.
Software Suspend Encryption Driver loading.
Software Suspend userspace UI support loading.
Software Suspend Swap Writer loading.
Software Suspend 2.1.9.5: Swapwriter: Signature found.
Software Suspend 2.1.9.5: Suspending enabled.
When I try to suspend it says
Software Suspend 2.1.9.5: Initiating a software suspend cycle.
Software Suspend 2.1.9.5: Swapwriter: Signature found.
Software Suspend 2.1.9.5: Suspending enabled.
Suspend2: Failed to initialise the compression transform.
Please include the following information in bug reports:
- SUSPEND core : 2.1.9.5
- Kernel Version : 2.6.12
- Compiler vers. : 3.3
- Attempt number : 1
- Pageset sizes : 9848 (9848 low) and 81433 (81433 low).
- Parameters : 1 64 0 1 400 4
- Calculations : Image size: 91486. Ram to suspend: 1291.
- Limits : 130730 pages RAM. Initial boot: 128061.
- Overall expected compression percentage: 0.
- Compressor enabled.
- Encryptor enabled.
- Swapwriter active.
Swap available for image: 262620 pages.
- Preemptive kernel.
- Max extents used: 4
- No I/O speed stats available.
One other thing i tried is
echo lzf > /proc/software_suspend/compressor
but then suspending resulted in an oops (I can provide a digicam photo
if necessary). Also
echo 1 > /proc/software_suspend/disable_compression
didn't help.
I do have lzf compression compiled in btw.
CONFIG_CRYPTO_LZF=y
Thanks for any help !
Roland
