If you're running a recent (i.e., in the last 5 months) NVidia driver,
take it out of the blacklist file (in /etc/hibernate I think); they
suspend and resume perfectly now, and don't use any VBE save/restore
tricks. Nor is "SwitchToTextMode" necessary any longer, and in fact
will slow down your suspend/resume 'cause VT-to-X switching takes so
long now.
