It seems you have removed processor module and disabled CPU freq scaling ?
While I am a novice in kernel, I hope you know what you are doing !
and are using the kernel .config that _works_ in gentoo.
Can you enable DEBUG_KERNEL so that there might be some useful
messages in the log.

Then, move to a console
stop kdm/gdm/xdm
stop networking

# hibernate -v3 -r

and lets see.

(BTW, zt3000 is not equivalent model of nx9000 but of nx7000 - sorry
for confusing.)
