I got a new notebook some weeks ago and need the nvidia driver as well
now.

However ToI works absolutly reliable for me. I am using kernel 2.6.25.x,
ToI 3.0rc7 and nvidia 173.14.09 (worked with older versions as well).

The only tweak I needed was

ProcSetting extra_pages_allowance 0
