Hi everyone.
Hot on the heels of a new userui and hibernate script, I'm delighted to
finally announce a new Suspend2 stable release.
2.2.10 is now available from:
http://www.suspend2.net/downloads/all/suspend2-2.2.10-for-2.6.18.8.patch.bz2
http://www.suspend2.net/downloads/all/suspend2-2.2.10-for-2.6.19.7.patch.bz2
http://www.suspend2.net/downloads/all/suspend2-2.2.10-for-2.6.20.11.patch.bz2
http://www.suspend2.net/downloads/all/suspend2-2.2.10-for-2.6.21.1.patch.bz2
http://www.suspend2.net/downloads/all/suspend2-2.2.10-for-2.6.22-rc1.patch.bz2
The changelog is waaaaay too long to include here, so let me give you a
brief rundown of the most important points...
1) You _must_ upgrade your userui.
2) To get the new multithreaded I/O support (if you have SMP or HT), you
need to enable late_cpu_hotplug. In future revisions, this will become
the default. For now, though, I'm erring on the side of caution.
In /etc/hibernate/suspend.conf, add:
procsetting late_cpu_hotplug 1
3) Encryption support is gone. Most people were using block device level
support for encryption anyway. If you really wanted this to remain and
just can't encrypt your underlying device, please discuss it with us on
the -users or -devel lists. I'm not adverse to being persuaded that it
is worth retaining.
I think that's everything. Hope it serves you well!
Nigel
