Subject: [Suspend2-announce] Announce: 2.1.9.8
Hi all.

2.1.9.8 for the 2.6.12 kernel is now available.

http://suspend2.net/downloads/all/software-suspend-2.1.9.8-for-2.6.12.tar.bz2

Changes in this release:

- A few freezer fixes, plus Christopher Lamenter's patch now in
2.6.13-rc1.
- Initial work on x86-64. Not compile tested - I'd like to hear from
people who can test.
- Removed keyboard handler and serial console hooks - we now use
/dev/console for early boot messages.
- Replaced stack relocation assembly with more generic, arch independent
code. Speedups to be applied later.
- Added some safety nets in the hope of tracing the cause of corruption
seen by a few people.
- Made userui a non-optional component.
- Removed bootsplash and text mode kernel components. If you want the
nice userui without an initrd, I'm afraid you're out of luck for the
first (small) part of resume, but it will return after the atomic
copy-back.
- Fix a few configuration issues with the new compression and encryption
plugins. Note that to get compression and/or encryption support, you
need to enable Cryptoapi support from the top level menu, and algorithms
under that. If used algorithms are compiled as modules, you'll need to
load them from an initrd to resume.
- Addressed (with Bernard) some userui missing functionality. You need
updated userui programs.
- Cleaned up kernel based user interface code.
- Applied a few swapwriter fixes.

Regards,

Nigel
